Time Outs

Time Outs

Do you use Time Out when your child is repeatedly being challenging?   I know it’s a popular method and it’s certainly better than smacking (which is probably what your parents did to you), but is it ultimately helpful & could there be a better strategy to use instead?

That’s the topic of this video where I share why I don’t advocate Time Outs, and what you could do instead.

Now, I realise it can be hard to change what you’ve been doing, especially when you were parented in a different way.  And it can be hard to move in towards our child when they’re being aggressive, etc when your initial instinct may be to push them away.

That’s precisely where ANNOYING to AMAZING! comes in.

“It was empowering, life changing and has dramatically improved my relationship with my boys and their behaviour is much better.”

I want you to feel empowered, to have a real grasp of the strategies and to actually see what they look like in real life.

You can watch videos to see how I move in close when my son is hitting and having a massive tantrum.  I show you how to help your child finish up playing on the iPad when they don’t really want to or when they’re lashing out (I role play this with another mum).  I show you how to implement playful ways to discipline in different situations

By the end you’ll feel confident in knowing what to do.  You’ll be able to move in & offer connection in those times when previously you would have punished.  And you’ll feel really supported – that you’re no longer alone in having to manage challenging situations.

“I feel I have the tools, confidence and knowledge to tackle behaviour as she gets older. It has truly made my parenting style fun, easier to tackle behaviours and I’m more relaxed and enjoying it rather than being up tight, angry and resentful.  It was a lifesaver.”

So if you want to
– feel more CONFIDENT
– be INSPIRED
– UNDERSTAND why your children are being annoying
– KNOW what to do in those challenging situations
– feel SUPPORTED
– be more PLAYFUL
– have more FUN!

then join me for 8 weeks and I’ll show you how!

Why A Tantrum Is Not Always What It Seems

Sometimes our children have the biggest cries over the smallest of things.  We can be completely baffled why they are so upset over something so minor as the wrong colour plate, the wrong t-shirt or event a biscuit being slightly broken. It can lead to us becoming infuriated, bewildered or upset ourselves.  Sometimes we can… Continue Reading
